This month's features:

Coralie Hills: From the Editor

AS I write this in South Australia we are in the grip of a very cold snap. We have had our coldest day for three years. What a variation in weather from our extreme heat during the summer. Our plants are showing signs of not liking this great variation. So its good to have the magazine in which we can look at what others are growing and also think about where they come from.

In this issue we have a really interesting article from Brian and Eileen Anderson from England who have written about orchids from North Cyprus. Something that I had never thought about, but what wonderful and unusual flowers!...............

Colin Jennings: From the Publications Director

I am pleased to announce that the AOC now has a new Webmaster.........The AOC is indebted to Wolfgang Bandisch who stepped in to the role temporarily.........

Articles relating to orchids, orchid culture and orchid lore are always welcomed. Please forward any contributions directly to the Editor, preferably as Word documents......

It is very important for the future of the magazine, and to be able to produce it at the lowest rate possible without losing quality as a result, that we increase our subscription base. It is an aim of the production team to try to increase our subscriptions by at least ten percent.  ..............

Peter Taylor: Selected species - Dendrobium glomeratum

Last summer I flowered, what for me was a 'new' Dendrobium: it was a knockout, having large 6cm flowers with very flat sepals and a lovely contrasting lip of deep orange-red. It was labelled Dendrobium sulawesiense and  ............

B & E Anderson: Wild Orchids from North Cyprus.

Nine pages of these orchids with plenty of photographs.

Rod Rice: Six miscellaneous orchid species from limestone moss forest West Thailand

ON one of our 'orchid safaris' into the north of Kanchanaburi Province, we encountered some interesting tall rainforest which also had remnant patches of ancient moss forest within. .......... Within this forest we observed many species we have not seen in other local forests and indeed discovered species not previously recorded from this province nationally including new undescribed species and taxa........

John Rees: Singapore Revisited

Alan Stephenson: Mt. Rae Three Years On

Mount Rae is considered a locality and is 250km south west of Sydney. This area is at the peak of the Great Dividing Range at an altitude of 1100 metres....... Diuris aequalis, Stegostyla dimorpha, Stegostyla cucullata, Diplodium coccinum ....................

New from the Clubs, AOC Orchid of the Year 2007 nominations ......   And much much more . . .
